PATTERN INFORMATION

The Cosy Cocoon Poncho has been designed to be a versatile wardrobe staple that will see you through the cooler months. A perfect layering piece, it can be worn as outerwear in the form of a classic poncho or can be worn as a sweater with the addition of the optional sleeves. The poncho has an extremely loose fit with approximately 30 to 41 inches / 76 to 104 cm of positive ease across the bust.

The body of the poncho is worked in turned rows. The back section is created first, the left and right shoulder sections are added directly to this and joined at the front to create the neckline. Once the front is complete, ribbing is added around the edges followed by a large cowl neckline. Finally the optional sleeves can be added for extra warmth. There is little need for seaming throughout this project, the sides can be seamed based on personal preference, otherwise it’s just those pesky ends to weave in at the end.

This pattern has been written using US crochet terminology and has an easy skill level using single, half-double and double crochet stitches. Photographs of techniques are included throughout the pattern.
