Highland Wool is a classic, lovely wool yarn spun from 100% very high quality wool and is the perfect choice if you don’t want to compromise.
The wool comes from the Peruvian highlands, which is one of the most remote parts of the world. A special cross between Merino and Corridale sheep thrive tremendously in the tough landscape - and the special climate and thin air makes it possible to produce a completely wonderful and unique type of wool.
Highland Wool is a light, soft wool yarn that easily absorbs moisture, keeping you nice and warm. The combination of the strong fibers and the exquisite softness lends itself to most projects. And the wool is durable enough to last for many years, even with frequent use.
Highland wool would look extra good in structural or jacquard knitting and is easy to work evenly. The yarn has a fine structure which is only enhanced by the beautiful color spectrum that both includes solid and mottled colors.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2476-419). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

This is a beautiful lightweight in feel, but warm yarn. It is extremely soft to the touch. I have used it to knit the. “Jenny sweater” by Petite knits in shade 30, Moroccan Spice and the definition in the pattern absolutely stunning. The colour is gorgeous. So pleased am I with all of the above qualities, that I have just ordered some more in shade 21, Moss green, to knit the “Louvre sweater” also by Petite knits. It really is difficult to decide just which colour to order as the range is impressive. The current discount when you buy a larger number of skeins is a definite incentive.

I was apprehensive about trying this yarn because I don't tend to like the "scratchiness" of wool yarn. I was pleasantly surprised to feel how soft and smooth this yarn was. Yes, it still has a little characteristics of wool, but it glides easily under my hooks. (I use Tulip Interchangeable Tunisian Crochet Hooks)

Tried the Highland wool last year for hat and mittens. The wool feels comfortable but there isn't much elasticity in the wool and the items easily lost their shape, which can be recovered with washing.
With the spare wool I made felted slippers. They shrunk great and have produced a nice thick felt.

Lovely yarn, used it to knit my first jumper with two strands of this and two strands of alpaca blaze! This is only a little itchy, but it's gorgeous, knits so well and would absolutely get some more in the future! Also the pink is an absolutely gorgeous colour!

Oh my words it is hard to describe how much more joy this yarn brought to me and my creation. I made chunky love hearts and pouches to hand out so we could spread the yarny crafty love. Will most definitely buy this yarn again for sure.
