Beautiful color gradients on a wonderfully soft yarn. For Sunbird, we have selected a coordinating palette of muted colors in a hand-dyed look. The colors flow into each other in a single long gradient, so the sections are about the same length as you work your way through the skein.
Sunbird is spun from a premium anti-pilling acrylic that is soft, smooth, and easy to work with. You will notice it doesn’t pill to the same degree as some acrylic tends to do.
Create lovely crocheted or knitted blouses, blankets, scarves, and so on. The yarn has enough weight to give the finished object a beautiful drape.
The yarn is spun from a so-called anti-pilling acrylic. This type of fiber is constructed in a special way that makes the fibers less likely to pill, like acrylic usually does. Anti-pilling is neither a treatment nor a process added to the yarn; the difference is in the construction of the special fiber material that the yarn is spun from.
Butterfly has been rebranded into Sunbird. The product and the colors are exactly the same, it is just the label that has a new, fun look. Please bear with us while we phase out the stock with the older label.
Please note that the colors may have rubbed off on each other during the dyeing process. There can be small speckles of darker color on the lighter colors in the skein. This is perfectly normal and will add a dashing effect to your finished project.
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I'm in love with this stunning yarn 😍. I took advantage of the black Friday sale to stock up and I'm currently crocheting a simple double crochet sweater. The pattern might be simple but the resulting item looks anything but. The colours are beautiful, it's beautifully soft and silky and it glides on my hook like butter resulting in a faster result. The resulting fabric is beautiful. I'll be purchasing more.

This yarn is so soft, and feels very delicate for a dk. I used one skein of Monarch to crochet a virus blanket, which was small but perfect for a newborn baby in the bassinet or as a light layer for cuddles and contact naps. The colour transitions are smooth, and the flow of colour is really pleasing to look at and work with. Will absolutely repurchase for future projects.

I have used butterfly in two different colourways to make blankets, it was a little thinner than I expected, but so beautifully soft and ey to work with. The only thing I would change about butterfly is the abrupt colour changes, but that is perhaps because I've used other yarns where colour changes have been gradual. This in no way affected how my blankets turned out.

Beautiful and soft yarn. A real pleasure to work with. As there is no smooth transition I did colour control so it did not affect the outcome. It is very smooth and drapey. You might want to consider winding it into a cake as it looses its shape quickly and the yarn just end up being a mess. I would love solid colours added to the range.

The Butterfly yarn is so lovely to work with and the colour changes are great. I have used the yarn (colours 02 and 04) for blankets which turned out brilliantly. There were no knots in the skeins which is great. Unfortunately I haven't got enough of colour 04 left (momentarily out of stock) so ordered colour 14. 😉
