Hilma - Baby Blanket - Knit Kit
We have gathered everything you need for this project in one complete kit. The kit includes both the pattern (PDF) and yarn, so you can get started right away!
Please note that knitting needles are not included, as many prefer to use their own personal favourites. If you are missing the right needles for this project, you can find them in our lovely selection on our website.
MEASUREMENTS
Width: 103 cm / 40.5”
Length: 63 cm / 24.75”
PATTERN INFORMATION
The baby blanket is worked separately in pieces and sewn together in the end. Meaning every panel is worked separately and you will have to work 2 to 3 panels for each contrast colour, alternating with the main colour. The stripes onto the panels are placed offset to each other for an interesting look – so you will start and end the different panels either with the main colour or with the contrast colour.
After you have worked all panels in the different colours in stockinette stitch, wet block them and let them dry flat. Then, set up the panels according to the schematic showing the color combination and sew together all the panels using the mattress stitch. Then, pick up stitches along all 4 edges of the blanket and finish the edgings with an applied i-Cord-Edging using one of your contrast colours. Alternatively, you can add a hem in 2x2 ribbing to bottom and top of the baby blanket.
