Scots Pine - Beret

SIZE

Size 1 (child/XS), Size 2 (S/M/L), Size 3 (XL+)

MEASUREMENTS

The diameter of the beret changes if it is for a child or an adult.

Size 1: For a child/XS, beret should be between 25cm-26cm (9.8”-10.2”)

Size 2: The common beret diameter for an adult is between 27cm-28cm (10.6”-11”). This can fit most head sizes.

Size 3: For larger heads, or if you want a larger beret plate, 32cm (12.5”) should be the maximum plate size.

You will need to know your head circumference before making the ribbing. Use a measuring tape around your head, where the beret would sit, and take note of what your measurements are. The instructions to find the circumference for the beret, is after R21.

PATTERN INFORMATION

The Scots Pine Beret uses the granny spike stitch, and is worked from the center, outwards, so it is easy to adjust to a preferred size. Your stitches shouldn’t be too tight for the granny spike stitch, so if you have tight tension it’s recommended to go up a hook size. The pattern is intermediate level, but an advanced beginner could also manage as it can be easy to get into the rhythm!

The photos also show the following colours/qualities: Tea Time col. Matcha (13).
