Jaipur Peace Silk is sourced on a farm in the Northeast of Thailand in a cruelty-free way. The silk of this beautiful 100% silk yarn comes from the Eri silkworm which spins a unique type of cocoon, then turns into a butterfly, and flies away from it before the cocoon is harvested, making it the perfect choice for an animal-friendly silk. Due to the way it is produced, the obtained thread is not as long as other types of silk and hence, it has a more opaque sheen to it while still retaining its famous cooling properties and a lovely drape.

The available color palette offers both muted and nude tones as well as brighter and deeper ones.

NB: There may be excess dye in some of the colors, especially in darker colors, as silk absorbs a lot of dye. We recommend rinse the yarn in cold water before use; finish with a rinse of water with a little vinegar. Always wash in cold water. The nature of the silk fibers makes it a not very elastic material, which tends to lengthen by about 10% once washed. We recommend you consider this for all your projects.
