I recently tried amigurumi crochet for the first time - making Star Wars figures with acrylic yarn - and having had some success with that graduated to a project making dolls of ‘Iconic Women who Changed the World’ which recommended the Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn. I have never used cotton yarn before but have been very impressed with it, finding it smooth and soft, but also strong. It does not seem to shed fibres as I work it and the fact that it doesn’t stretch makes it particularly good for toys. The huge range of colours is impressive, the price is very competitive and the service I have received from Hobbii has been friendly, helpful and quick. I expect to buy more of this yarn in the future and have seen numerous others on the website I would also love to try.

I have worked with cotton yarns before and not had a good experiance as I have found them to be too stiff and rough. This is very different, It is soft and easy to use. I have used it in both knitting and crochet and have had a good experiance with it. Very slightly splitty in crochet but that could be user error as I am quite new to that skill but my knitting had no splitting at all. When I have finished my stock of this I will be buying more of it.
I would have given it 4.5 stars but as half stars are not allowed I rounded it up. The only place I could really take marks off was that I would like it in larger skeins but that is not a criticism of the actual yarn just the way it is sold.

Lovely yarn.
I ordered this yarn in anthracite grey (#10) and the colour is beautiful! It's so hard to finder a darker / charcoal grey in a nice shade and this fit the bill well. It seems to work well with any colour it is paired with, but a great shade if you are looking for a companion to darker colours, and aren't wanting to use black!
A soft yarn that is easy to work with.
I personally prefer the 8/4 and I'd say it holds itself ever so slightly better (if I was to be extremely picky!) But for it's weight, exactly as expected.
A great, low price yarn that would lend itself to any project.
Recommended product.
Thank you, Hobbii. 🙂

VERY pleased with this. New to crocheting after trying a woobles kit and wanted to do more, except I knew I needed to upgrade to "normal" more commonly used yarn. My mum had a bunch of yarn lying about from when she used to knit so tried those ones. Could not use any of them for the life of me - either too fuzzy, or too novel, and/or the stitches looked practically invisible to me. Googled recommendations and a lot of people recommended this one as easy to see the stitches, doesn't easily split/unwind, and I've found that to also be the case. Very glad I took the gamble in buying this, and will be returning for more.

I've returned to crochet after 60 (yes sixty!) years away. I'd never experienced using cotton yarn before and love it! The texture is lovely and, although unforgivingly non stretchy, it is making relearning a delight! Frogging is a piece of cake and undoing knotsis so much easier with the smooth threads.
I started using Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8 first with a WIP granny quilt. (WIP because I underestimated the amount of yarn needed & my colour choices temporarily ran out!)
So started my second WIP ( a cardigan) with Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6!
I am loving Hobbii's cotton yarns!!!
