Are you familiar with our lovely alpaca yarn, Soft Alpaca? It’s the same high quality and fabulous fiber, spun in the thinnest version. Soft Alpaca Lace is made from 100% alpaca from Peru. Wonderfully soft and very durable.
Soft Alpaca Lace is extra thin and fine, which makes it a superb choice for more delicate knitting with lots of details. As the name suggests, it’s perfect for knitting lace when you want pretty and delicate lace designs. You’ll get an exquisite result if you use Soft Alpaca Lace for projects like an eyelet shawl. The result will be super light, but you’ll still find that it’s nice and warm since the fibers are hollow and isolating.
Our lace version is spun from the same type of raw yarn and fine fibers that we use for Hobbii Soft Alpaca, and the colors match. It gives you a whole new set of options to play around with the knitting tension and knitting with thinner needles. If you want to play around with different shades to create interesting colors, you can combine Soft Alpaca with lace in a different shade.
We also recommend that you try Soft Alpaca Lace as the second strand in combination with wool yarn, perhaps as a replacement for mohair. Alpaca doesn’t shed like the smooth mohair fibers, and it’s also incredibly soft against your skin. You’ll get far with just a few skeins since this lace version has a running length of 400 meters per skein.

This yarn is perfect to run with any 4ply yarn to make it thicker, add extra depth to any colour or soften colour changes in sel striping yarns. It also gives the fabric a feel of extra softness.
It's my go to yarn for these purposes and i have collected a good variety of colours in my stash

Beautiful product! I am combining it with Unicorn solid instead of mohair due to allergies, and this lace has such a nice feel and definition it is far superior and gorgeous and making the knitting process far more enjoyable.

Beautifully soft. Thread is consistent thickness. Hoping to crochet a cobweb blanket, this wool is so fine, it should prove amazing.

I bought this to weave with. It felt wonderfully soft, and was an absolute joy to weave. perfect!....however, after washing it (which is part of the weaving process to set the threads in place) I found that it shed a lot of fibres, became noticeably hairy and was quite itchy, actually. I had no time to weave another one, so I brushed as much of the hairiness out best I could.
My scarf was a gift for a friend on our day out around London to celebrate us both turning 50, and although she received it gratefully and wore it all day, I cringed every time I saw her itching her neck... :-/
