1. What is a CAL?
CAL stands for Crochet-Along. It's a project where you, along with other crocheters, work on an exciting crochet project simultaneously.
#UnderwaterTailsCAL is divided into 5 parts. This means that every Wednesday, you'll receive a new part of the pattern until you finally have the complete pattern.
A CAL is perfect for you if you love learning new techniques, embracing challenges, having fun, and sharing a project with fellow craft enthusiasts.
2. What is a Mystery CAL?
Do you love surprises? Then you’ll absolutely adore participating in a Mystery CAL!
A Mystery CAL is a project where the final design remains a secret until you've received all parts of the pattern. Week by week, the project will unfold before your eyes – making it a truly fun and engaging way to tackle a project!
Of course, this means we can't reveal too much about the project you’ll be diving into. But we can give you a small hint… 😉
Projectarian has designed a reversible amigurumi the size of a rugby ball. The theme is a fantasy world beneath the sea, and you'll be crocheting two characters, Gumdrop and Juju. And that’s all we’re saying for now! 🤫

3. What is amigurumi, and is it difficult?
‘Amigurumi’ is a Japanese term that refers to adorable, crocheted 3D figures stuffed with filling.
If you've never crocheted amigurumi before but are familiar with the basic crochet techniques, you can definitely dive into amigurumi—it's not that different from crocheting other projects.
4. What skill level is required for this CAL?
The pattern for this CAL is designed for the experienced crocheter. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t participate if you’ve never crocheted before or still consider yourself a beginner. The pattern includes detailed explanations and videos. However, as a beginner, you might need to spend a bit extra time getting acquainted with the techniques.
Jessie from Projectarian believes that you can definitely take on this project. She highlights that she has diligently worked to design a project that everyone can enjoy:
“Although it's rated as intermediate, I am confident that beginners will have no trouble following along with the content that I have carefully packed into the pattern and videos for you. I always go to great lengths to make my patterns easy to follow and ensure everyone has support if they need help. If you're on the fence, definitely take the leap – we've got you!”
5. How can I share the experience with other participants?
Are you finding something difficult, or do you want to show off your project? One of the best parts of participating in a Crochet-Along is that you’re not alone. There are plenty of other crocheters working on the project along with you. Participants in our shared projects are always great at sharing progress, seeking advice, and encouraging each other.
