About the design process for this collection, Johanna shared with us: 

"The Alice Slipover had been in this book for a long time, and the Mini & Me Collection seemed like the perfect opportunity to create a matching slipover outfit with a romantic and sweet touch for my daughter and me. The Klara Sweaters were a bit more challenging to design, but they ultimately turned out to be perfect for this collection."

Alice Slipover Junior & Woman

First up, we have the Alice Slipover, available in both junior sizes (1-14 years) and women's sizes (XS-4XL). These slipovers feature a double folded collar, hems, and lovely embroidered flowers. 🌸

Johanna shared her inspiration behind this design:

"I once had a favorite summer top with embroidered flowers on a lace fabric. When it became too worn out to wear, I wanted to recreate it, which inspired one of my beloved designs, the Alice Camisole. I loved wearing that top so much that I decided to create a variety of garments with the same design. The Alice Slipover is the latest addition, perfect for chilly summer evenings, early autumn days, and the upcoming spring!”

Adore a bit of floral elegance? Then the Alice Slipover is perfect for you. The cropped length pairs beautifully with high-waisted skirts, trousers, or dresses, adding a touch of springtime romance to your wardrobe. ❤️

The design is worked in stockinette stitch, top down, and all in one piece. This approach ensures a seamless finish and a comfy fit. Both slipovers are knit in Soft Alpaca, giving them a luxurious and very soft feel, perfect for cooler weather.

Klara Sweater Junior, Baby, Woman & Man

Next, we have the comfy Klara Sweater, which comes in a range of sizes for everyone from the tiniest tots (0-18 months) and juniors (1-14 years) to women (XS-5XL) and men (XS-3XL). This slightly oversized sweater features a joyful colorwork pattern that brings a splash of fun to any outfit.

When asked about her approach to color selection for this design, Johanna shared:

“For the Klara Sweater's eye-catching colorwork pattern, I chose classic colors suitable for both men, women, children, and babies. I paired blue and red with light beige and gray to brighten things up."

The sweater is worked top down in one piece, with raglan increases, and a comfortable, cozy fit thanks to a little positive ease.

For the Klara Sweaters, Johanna has chosen a combination of Soft Alpaca and Alpaca Silk. She explained:

“For the Klara Sweater, color choices were crucial in selecting the yarn, which is why I combined these two yarn qualities. They create a luxurious fabric and, in our experience, can be worn by all family members. However, yarn preference is very individual, and luckily, there are endless options!”

Lastly, she offered some advice for beginners attempting colorwork:

"For beginners, I recommend choosing colorwork patterns worked in the round, like the Klara Sweater. Knitting in the round can be easier for colorwork as you avoid purling wrong side rows and changing colors simultaneously. Pay close attention to your knitting tension, as it's crucial when working with colors. Then, just practice and have fun!”
