I ended up using a little more than half the skein to make this cowl using Winterglow yarn. It was straight forward and a good project to get into crochet as you repeat the row until you have a rectangle, then once the edges are overlapped, crochet the neck. I followed the instructions and tried it on before weaving in the tail. It was looser than I expected so I undid all of the neck and redid it using less stitches (so that it would fit closer/not flop over) so that I'd be cosier.

This is one of the easiest patters to follow. A simple two row repeat using hdc worked into the back loop gives the cowl a ribbed texture, and using a multi coloured yarn adds interest.
I made two of these and sold them both at a Christmas Fair this last weekend. A definite hit and a pattern I will use again and again. Actulally, I have a ball of mutlti in a well known brand (not Hobbii) that will lends itself very well to this!

Very easy to follow and quick to complete! I also made fingerless gloves and a headband to match for a whole set. Still have some skein left to hopefully do another pair of gloves. Ordered more colours in same winterglow wool as its so soft and warm but lightweight

Such a quick and easy project to make up, and the Winter Glow yarn is beautiful! I made one of these for a family member for Christmas and they loved it - said the wool was soo soft. Will be making myself one now that Christmas is all done.

I absolutely love this pattern it's such an easy patten to follow, really easy and quick to make. Its the first time i done a pattern like this and I found it such fun and got so much enjoyment out of it.
