Let your creativity flow with Sultan: a stunning cotton cake yarn that brings soft texture and breathtaking color transitions to every stitch.

Sultan is made from 100% pure, soft cotton and features a unique construction of 4 untwisted strands. The yarn is designed with beautiful long colour changes, shifting gently from one hue to the next. The transitions happen gradually, one strand at a time, creating a subtle gradient effect. Where the colour shift occurs, you will notice a small knot in one of the four threads: a natural part of the yarn's construction. Many crafters work right past it, but you can also trim and weave in the end for an even smoother finish.

Sultan is available in a wide and carefully curated palette, from soft tone-on-tone combinations to vivid and playful contrasts. Whether you prefer delicate fades or bold colour journeys, there is something in the range for every taste and project.

Its construction gives the yarn a light, airy drape and makes it especially suited for projects where flow and movement matter. Such as shawls, afghans, baby blankets, and summery garments. With a generous 800 metres per 200-gram cake, most shawls and scarves can be completed with just one cake. It is a perfect match for those who love large, continuous pieces with minimal ends to weave in.

Sultan is your go-to yarn for airy, elegant creations with unforgettable colour stories.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/
Pro tip: Before you start working on the Sultan cake, run all 4 treads through a small bead to help the threads stay together throughout the project.
NB: We have given Sultan a little brush-up. The colours are now more even throughout the cake, and it comes with a new label. Bear with us as we phase out the old stock, and make sure to buy enough for your current project. We have done our utmost to match Sultan and Sultan Solid. Still, there might be very slight differences.

I made a shawl using colour 53, Amazonite. It came out beautifully, with excellent stitch definition. I'm now making a lap blanket using colour 01, Ocean Jasper. The colour changes in this yarn are so subtle, they give a stunning end result. I would say though, having experienced cake collapse when using Sultan Shadow - it was the first time I had used a 4 ply yarn - I now roll the cake into a ball when I want to start with the centre colour. That being said, this is now my favourite yarn and I'll definitely be buying more.

I made The Tendril Shawl (pattern on Ravelry) using the colourway Apetite using the 4 ply cotton. It is the first time I have used it and it was lovely to work with. The handy tab for an easy centre pull start was a nice way to start. I wish all yarns could start like this! The yarn was nice to work with and was smooth, soft and made a nice drape shawl. I have several more cakes left plus 4 in another colourway and I look forward to using it again.

I have wanted to make a shawl using this kind of yarn for some time but was put off by the price until I found this very reasonable one. I was also a bit daunted by the fineness of the yarn with the loose threads but I have been pleasantly surprised. It looks beautiful crocheted nd I have had very little trouble with the yarn catching or splitting. When it did it was just my lack of experience using it. Would definitely by again.

Made a waistcoat for a work colleague using Sultan (32) Carnelian she was made up with it really happy ! Now I'm making her a shawl with the same Sultan Carnelian . I have more colleagues at work asking me to also make them shawls and waistcoats. I am utterly happy and so are they. What a gorgeous yarn to work with and what amazing colours ! And the customer service also 5 star. Keep up the good work all of you 🥰

Sultan is just so beautiful! The long colour changes are divine, the cake feels like it goes on forever! Such a huge amount of great quality cotton! I wish I could afford to buy all the colours.
These are fantastic for making mandalas, shawls, scarfs, ponchos, beach dresses \ cover ups, crop \ bra tops or lightweight pullovers for the summer evenings. So very versatile
