Hobbii Unicorn is a lovely wool yarn in gorgeous shades. We found it at an extremely talented yarn dyer in Istanbul. After almost 3 decades of experience in the yarn industry, she has chosen to set out on her own with hand-dyed yarns. We were blown away by the beautiful colors, which is why she now manufactures Unicorn exclusively for us.

Each hank of Hobbii Unicorn is unique because the yarn is hand-dyed. It enables the most beautiful interplay of colors in the yarn, which consists of a mixture of exquisite merino wool and polyamide. This means Unicorn is durable enough for socks, but the wonderful shades make it an obvious choice for unique shawls, sweaters, or a funky vest. You can try pairing Unicorn with a thin strand of silk mohair and create a fluffy dream in the loveliest hues.

When yarn is hand-dyed in small batches it means that two skeins will never be the same and the colors vary more than usual from lot to lot. It's a good idea to calculate exactly how much you will need for your project before you start, so you are sure to have enough.

For larger projects, we recommend making a gradual color change before your skein runs out and you start on a new one. Specifically, this means that you should alternate between knitting/crocheting a row with the old skein and then a row with the new one. Repeat a few times until the old skein is used up. That way you avoid an overly obvious color shift in the transition between the two skeins of hand-dyed yarn.

If you use the Solid version with Unicorn, it’s of the utmost importance that you follow the washing instructions for the hand dyed version:
Hand wash at max. 68℉ (20℃) and no soaking.
