I recently tried amigurumi crochet for the first time - making Star Wars figures with acrylic yarn - and having had some success with that graduated to a project making dolls of ‘Iconic Women who Changed the World’ which recommended the Rainbow Cotton 8/8 yarn. I have never used cotton yarn before but have been very impressed with it, finding it smooth and soft, but also strong. It does not seem to shed fibres as I work it and the fact that it doesn’t stretch makes it particularly good for toys. The huge range of colours is impressive, the price is very competitive and the service I have received from Hobbii has been friendly, helpful and quick. I expect to buy more of this yarn in the future and have seen numerous others on the website I would also love to try.

I have worked with cotton yarns before and not had a good experiance as I have found them to be too stiff and rough. This is very different, It is soft and easy to use. I have used it in both knitting and crochet and have had a good experiance with it. Very slightly splitty in crochet but that could be user error as I am quite new to that skill but my knitting had no splitting at all. When I have finished my stock of this I will be buying more of it.

I would have given it 4.5 stars but as half stars are not allowed I rounded it up. The only place I could really take marks off was that I would like it in larger skeins but that is not a criticism of the actual yarn just the way it is sold.

I am new to making animals/toys using crochet so was unsure about how well this would work as I had no experience to measure it against. This wool is amazing! I got way more than I needed because, despite their small size, they have a lot more to them than they look. I was able to do 2 projects for what I thought would do 1. The wool is soft and easy to crochet with, didn't tangle or unwind - highly recommend! Just got my next lot for the next project!

I am so impressed with this yarn!

I decided to get all house crafty and bought this yarn purely to make dischcloths. I am not generally a fan of cotton yarn, as I find it can often feel quite harsh and be difficult to work with. However, this is very soft and knits up neatly and quickly. Being cotton, there is no stretch, but the softness and pliability of the yarn make it so comfortable to work with. I would highly recommend this to everybody.

Jessica

I have a small knitting business knitting baby clothes and other bits and I use this brand of yarn for all of my projects. I absolutely love it and I am always getting compliments from customers on the quality of the yarn. This particular dk weighted yarn is perfect for the autumn/ winter baby clothes that I knit. It’s so soft and easy to work with, couldn’t recommend it enough. Also the choice of colours are beautiful!
