Manaya is a wonderful wool mix that is nice and warm. The large soft skeins with the finest mottles are in themselves so nice that you almost hardly have the heart to use them.

But when you first get a needle or hook in Manaya, it’s hard to put it down again. As with many color-changing yarns, it’s exciting to follow the colors. Knitted or crocheted, the shades merge into each other in beautiful stripes.

Fine South American wool has been used, so Manaya is delightful to use for scarves, hats, ponchos, or other cuddly accessories for example.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

I really loved working with this yarn and adore the colour choices! I find that it crochets up beautifully and it even survived a long coach trip with kids very well (my attention not always on the project so had to frog quite a few times)! I made the forest shawl, which is a free pattern and uses one skein.

I just adore this yarn. I even find myself looking for projects just to use it more! Last project a shawl, Next project a throw. The only problem now is choosing between the colours! Please let me know when it goes on sale, so I can stock up.

Lisa

Very pleased with this yarn, 1 ball is huge and the colours are fantastic. I used it held double to crochet 2 baskets and I love the results.

I made a shawl with this as well as a colourwork piece, and overall a nice yarn. The colours are vibrant and fade smoothly, and the shawl feels lovely to wear, cosy with a tiny bit of fuzz but without being itchy. This yarn also goes a very long way! However, I noticed that the thickness of this yarn changes from time to time, often I found that the yarn often got thinner for a few yards, and sometimes also got thicker and very fuzzy. This yarn also gets stuck to itself and other yarns quite easily because of its slight fuzzy halo wrapping around other strands of yarn, making my colourwork project a bit of a headache at times. Overall though, a good yarn if you're looking for a variegated yarn with bright colours and smooth transitions between colours.

The colours of these yarns are absolutely beautiful. The transition between shades seems spot on so smaller pieces aren’t blocky. I have purchased different colours for various projects and am really impressed.
As mentioned in other reviews the consistency is problematic which is why I’ve not given 5 stars. For amigurumi pieces that require a second colour yarn I would opt for a DK weight if combining with this, as it rarely feels bulky enough to be an aran. That said, the consistency issues can be worked around easily enough.
