Alpaca Silk is an extraordinarily fabulous yarn from Peru. It consists of 70% alpaca and 30% silk, a match made in heaven if you ask us.

The silky-smooth silk adds a slightly shiny look to the yarn and combined with the long, warm alpaca-fibers, it makes the yarn extra durable. Silk Alpaca is a dream to wear and it’s perfect for warm and soft knitting for all kinds of clothing such as shawls, hats, and other accessories. This lightweight yarn adds a beautiful drape to any project. You can also combine the yarn with other yarns by adding e.g. a thread of Kid Silk into your work thus making your work extra lightweight.

Alpaca Silk is a fabulous luxury on your needles, so enjoy it!

NB! As you may know from many other types of textiles, yarn may contain excess color. The difference is that we don’t sit and pull the newly purchased shirts and pillowcases through our hands for hours on end the same way we do with our craftwork. The repeated rubbing from working with the yarn can, unfortunately, result in color transferring from some darker colors and black. But that doesn’t mean that you can't knit a striped sweater.

Alpaca Silk is exclusively dyed with colors and fixatives from European brands that follow the rules and regulations set by the EU. Because EU-approved agents are used exclusively to dye the yarn, it can be hard to achieve a good color fastness in fabrics like silk. Therefore, we recommend that you hand wash Alpaca Silk separately.

Pamela

A beautiful yarn, it’s wonderfully soft and warm - I’m so disappointed it has been discontinued- I would definitely have be using it for jumpers, scarfs, shawls and pretty much anything else to give a luxurious feel and warmth without bulk.

Radka

This yarn is absolutely beautiful with a luxurious sheen and drape. Shame it is being discontinued! It would be my go to for garments and shawls due to the heavy drapyness and softness next to skin.

Nisreen

This yarn is so luxuriously soft, I have never come across yarn with the same soft texture and rich colours. The beautiful drape makes the final product an exquisite work of art. `

Wendy

I love this yarn. It feel wonderful and is great to work with. I really reccomend it. I'm making a scarf for a friend from Peru and I have more to make one for myself.

Paula

Beautiful yarn, very soft indeed. I can’t wait to make something with it maybe a hat. Brought the colours number 22 and 25.
