#EasySummerCardiKAL – Part 1

Now let’s get started! 🎉 In Part 1, you’ll cast on stitches using a provisional cast-on, knit cables with a mix of knit and purl stitches, and set some stitches aside for later.
Elisabeth & Christine from easy as knit say this first part is “very fun” – though it might feel a bit puzzling at first.
It might even be difficult to imagine how this is going to turn out to be a cardigan – but remember, this is only the first part!
Tip: Don’t forget to use the cable needles that came with your kit! “It’s a lovely invention that makes things so much easier.” 🧶

EasySummerCardiKAL – Part 2

It might take a few rows to get the hang of it, but once you’ve found your rhythm, it’s super easy. And even though it’s simple, it looks amazing – and that’s what we love about it!
Tip: Spend a little time getting familiar with the chequered pattern – it’ll make the next steps a breeze!

This is the part where you can really start to imagine your project turning into a cardigan. It’s a fun stage – and it can feel a little tricky to juggle the different structures and fit the new stitches into the pattern, but you’ve got this!
This is when you’ll be especially happy you spent some time getting familiar with the chequered pattern!

We’re past the halfway point, and this week is all about bringing the body of the cardigan together. In Part 4, you’ll connect the front and back pieces using the backwards loop cast-on, work a single rib stitch, and finish it off with a beautiful Italian cast-off.
Elisabeth & Christine say this part really feels like a turning point:
This part is right in the middle – it’s where everything comes together, and you can really start to see how it’s becoming a real cardigan.
Tip: Be patient when working the Italian cast-off. It might take a little extra time, but as the designers say:
It’s totally worth the effort – the result is so beautiful.
